INTERVIEW WITH THE PRESIDENT OF INSPIRERS MINISTRY
BY INSPIRER PHIL
Interviewer: Doc. we are glad to have you here. It’s such a great privilege. Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

President: Thank you, my name is Prince Abrah, you can also call me Inspirer Prince. I come from the eastern part of Ghana. My father Mr. Joseph Kwadwo Abrah who is from Mprease Kwahu is deceased and my mother Mrs. Lydia Abrah from Obomeng Kwahu is alive. In terms of education, I went to the University of Ghana, Legon where I earned all my degree (s), Ph.D., MPhil, BA Sociology, and a Master of Ministry from the Trinity Seminary at Legon. In terms of work, I am currently a Deputy Director with the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Principal of the School of Social Work Osu. I have wonderful siblings and I am married to Mrs. Sandra Abrah Boamah the Vice president of the Inspirers Ministry.

INTERVIEWER: That’s beautiful! We know you are the founder of the Inspirers Ministry,  what inspired the formation of this powerful group.

PRESIDENT: Well, I will say, the founder of every ministry is God. God inspired this vision through the power of His Holy Spirit. The Inspirers Ministry started in the year 2012. I have been a praise and worship leader since 1989 with the  Ebenezer Assembly of God Church in Accra and the first General Secretary of the Men of Worship Ghana (MOW). In 2012, I was invited to Minister at 2012 at the MOW concert. I put up a team for that program and thereafter, recorded our first album which led to the formation of the Inspirers. With time, the vision became broader to incorporate outreach activities and programs for children, youth, and support for vulnerable GROUPS.

INTERVIEWER: Awesome Doc, Thank you for availing yourself to be used by God. Can you briefly tell us about the Inspirers Ministry, your purpose, music, and the journey so far?

PRESIDENT: Our divine purpose and assignments are manifested through our activities. Our sole responsibility in ministry is to touch lives and shape destinies through music, outreach, and prayer under the directions of the Spirit of God. (please visit our website on www.inspirersministry.org for more information about our major activities).

As mentioned earlier, Inspirers first featured on the MOW platform on 2012 @ the Calvary Temple at Sakumono, and later recorded their first album Medawase daa with ten (10) Hit songs in 2014 with our first official video Gyese Yesu Nkoaa available on YouTube.

In 2016, we launched our second album Miracle Working God with 11 tracks including songs like Adom nkoaa, Yesore wo, Rain and others. The official video of the title track is available on our YouTube channel ‘Inspirers Ministry’ for streaming. In June 2018, we launched our single track titled HEALER and later launched MERCY and AMEN in 2019 respectively. Lyric videos and audios of these songs are also available online.  Our new single  Great & Awesome God released in 2020 is also available on YouTube. It has really been a difficult but interesting journey full of testimonies and experiences to the glory of God.

INTERVIEWER: I can see you and your team have been busy with God over the years. God bless you. I have had the opportunity to listen to all your songs and they are indeed very powerful and scriptural. I wonder where you draw your inspiration from. Can you please tell us how you get or write your songs?

PRESIDENT: All glory be to God, in fact, that is a very interesting question. Well, regarding our songs, I will say they are inspired by God. All songs outdoor by Inspirers are written and composed by me under inspiration from God. There are others co-written and inserts by my wife and  former engineer by name DDT. Some of the songs are also inspired by my personal experiences. Miracle Working God and Healer are classic examples. Sometimes, I do pray to God to give me songs for the season. The great and awesome song which is our current new single was written during the period of the lockdown. I woke up one dawn to pray and the Lord opens my eyes to the book of Isaiah 6: 1-3 and it reads…

“…In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

Out of this scripture-inspired the second verse of the song . We started worshiping with this song during our family devotional worship time and later have it recorded.

Interviewer: Wow, that’s amazing Doc. Any Spirit-filled person who has listened to your songs, especially the most recent one (Great & Awesome God) attests to the fact the song was truly  inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Interviewer: So Doc, Where do you see the ministry in the next ten (10 years)?

PRESIDENT: We are believing God to have His perfect will in us. It is our prayer that the Lord who inspired this vision will do marvelous things with us in our present generation and the generation to come. The vision of Inspirers is quite broad comprising of both music and outreach wings. Speaking to the music, we pray that Inspirers will become a well-established global ministry and a voice of inspirational contemporary worship songs for Africa and beyond.
