Touching Lives, Shaping Destinies

Our Posture To Receive The Inexplicable – Prince Boamah Abrah, Ph.D

Introduction

Dearly beloved, our reflection for the week is on the subject of miracles which are usually inexplicable events attributed to divine providence beyond the explanation of natural or scientific laws.

I shared real-life testimonies about the manifestation of God’s power through miracles in my book “Miracle Working God: Inspiring Challenges which challenges your faith in God”, published in 2016.

Going down memory lane, a meeting I had with a young man at a shopping mall, and the questions he posed kept lingering in my mind when I asked his view about his knowledge of salvation through Christ Jesus, he paused and asked the following questions: … Does God exist and care?

Why doesn’t God answer all prayers and not save people who had accidents?

I looked into his eyes and said, Sir, you have asked intelligent questions, but the truth is, God truly exists, for I know most Atheists are struggling with these questions.

Responding to the young man’s questions on the existence of God, the following scriptures (Daniel 2:28, Exodus 3:13, Hebrews 11:16, Revelations 1: 8) came to mind.

God is a prayer-answering God who demonstrated His love for us (John 3:16), He may swiftly respond to our prayers (see: Psalm 34:1), He can say NO (Matt 7:11), or He can say wait (Jeremiah 29:11). Daniel’s prayer was delayed when the forces of darkness contend with the angel bringing an answer to his prayer (Daniel 10:12).

Our creator is mysterious… “He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His kind of intention which he has purposed (Ephesians 1: 9 & Matthew 13: 11) as to why He chooses to save or let people die in accidents remains a mystery with Him. God is Sovereign and Supreme.

Our posture to receive the inexplicable

If we demonstrate the young man’s perspective of unbelief, it becomes impossible to receive any good thing from God except he shows forth mercy.

The first composure to receive our miracle is faith and belief in God.

The second composure is trust; all things are possible with Him.

The third composure is endurance and patience to wait on God’s promises.

And lastly, the need for us to strengthen our relationship with God through prayer, worship, and thanksgiving.

Conclusion & Prayer

Eternal God of miracles, signs, and wonders, I thank you for the invincible manifestation of Your glory, will, and purpose. I refuse to doubt your power and ability regardless of my circumstances, Lord, please grant me a heart of patience to take one step at a time. Thank you, Lord, for answered prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
